Job summary

Actalent, Inc. is seeking a New Model Program Engineer to drive the launch of new vehicle and powertrain programs in North America, coordinating across engineering, manufacturing, and quality to meet timelines and budgets.

The role is onsite in Avon Lake, OH, with overtime during launches and a focus on gatekeeping, pre-production events, and issue resolution to ensure successful production integration.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
• 2+ years of experience with problem solving disciplines using statistical mindsets.
• 1+ years of experience in automotive operations manufacturing, design, and/or program management with project management or launch experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as gatekeeper for New Model Programs and ensure adherence to processes throughout the launch lifecycle.
• Oversee all activities related to pre-production build events to meet quality and efficiency objectives.
• Manage the ordering, building, testing, and disposition of pre-production vehicles, including the Pre-Production Drive Fleet Evaluation Plan.
• Approve Product Development changes so they are integrated and proven ahead of prototype builds.
• Lead the build issues management process and drive timely resolution of problems impacting launch.
• Co-chair launch meetings and resolve part support issues for each pre-production build event.
• Manage launch budget approval processes and execute elements controlled by New Model Programs within the launch budget.
• Prepare and present weekly New Model Program status reports with risks and updates.
• Champion senior management presentations communicating status, challenges, and solutions.
• Facilitate smooth transition of launch teams into manufacturing plants.
