Automotive Media Specialist
Position Overview

The Automotive Media Specialist is responsible for creating high-quality visual content that professionally showcases dealership inventory across digital platforms. This position combines automotive photography, media production, digital merchandising, quality control, and customer service to ensure every vehicle is accurately and professionally represented online.

The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, technologically capable, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Key Responsibilities
Automotive Media Production
  • Capture professional photography of new and used automotive inventory.
  • Photograph vehicle exteriors, interiors, features, details, and specialty equipment.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly positioned and presented prior to photography.
  • Maintain consistent composition, lighting, framing, focus, and image sequencing.
  • Operate and properly configure professional camera equipment.
  • Verify camera resolution, image quality, and settings meet company standards.
  • Produce media efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Upload and process completed media within required turnaround times.
  • Support video and other digital content initiatives as required.
Digital Merchandising
  • Ensure vehicle media accurately represents the condition, features, and appearance of each vehicle.
  • Confirm photos are properly associated with the correct vehicle and inventory record.
  • Review dealership websites and digital inventory platforms for proper photo placement and presentation.
  • Identify missing, incorrect, outdated, or poor-quality media and take corrective action.
  • Help ensure dealership inventory maintains a consistent and professional online appearance.
Quality Control
  • Review completed work for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
  • Respond to QC feedback and complete required reshoots or corrections.
  • Identify quality issues proactively before media is delivered to the customer.
  • Participate in ongoing photography and quality-control training.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current company media standards and expectations.
Dealership Relations
  • Develop professional working relationships with dealership personnel.
  • Communicate daily priorities and production status as needed.
  • Represent the company professionally while working on dealership property.
  • Respond to dealership requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Escalate customer or operational issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain a customer-focused approach while balancing productivity requirements.
Productivity & Accountability
  • Complete daily assignments according to established production expectations.
  • Effectively prioritize vehicles based on dealership needs.
  • Maintain consistent productivity without compromising media quality.
  • Communicate proactively regarding scheduling challenges, vehicle availability, or production delays.
  • Accurately document completed work.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and adherence to assigned schedules.
Equipment & Safety
  • Properly maintain and protect all company-issued equipment.
  • Conduct routine checks of cameras, lenses, phones, printers, and other media equipment.
  • Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment promptly.
  • Follow all company and dealership safety procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings while working around active dealership lots and moving vehicles.
Qualifications
  • Previous automotive photography, dealership, media production, or content creation experience preferred.
  • Experience using DSLR or mirrorless cameras is preferred.
  • Understanding of photography fundamentals including exposure, focus, composition, lighting, and camera settings.
  • Strong attention to detail and visual quality.
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily priorities.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to learn new technology and digital platforms quickly.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
