Job summary

Pep Boys in El Paso, TX is seeking an Automotive Mechanic who can professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and teammates, stay current with evolving automotive technology, mentor junior staff, and maintain a clean, safe shop. A valid driver's license and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience
• Section 609 Certification preferred
• State Inspection license if applicable
• Customer-focused attitude and motivation
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Pre-employment background check
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, perform all maintenance services.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals including customers and coworkers.
• Learn new technical information and techniques through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop and adhere to company policies and safety rules.
