The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County is seeking an Automotive Mechanic Leader. The role involves overseeing skilled repairs and maintenance of light duty motor vehicles. This position announcement is for Automotive Mechanic Leader -a full-time Civil Service position in General Services. This position coordinates, performs and oversees skilled repair and maintenance work on light duty motor vehicles (automobiles and trucks with GVWR of 19,900 or less) and related equipment. Performs related duties as required.
The men and women in Metro’s General Services Department are there to make sure the rest of government works. From ensuring that our city’s vehicles run safely and smoothly, to keeping city buildings up to par to providing printing services and more, General Services is the support that allows other Metro departments to focus and achieve their missions.
High school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years experience in repairing and maintaining motor vehicles and equipment.
OR
Completion of Automotive Repair studies from an accredited trade school and three (3) years of experience repairing light duty motor vehicles and/or equipment
*No Substitutions will be considered for this position*
LICENSES REQUIRED
Valid Driver License
A.S.E. Master Certification in the Automotive field
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Employee must furnish proper tools to perform the job.
**This position could be filled for the day shift or evening shift depending on departmental needs. The shift times are day 6a-2:30p or evening 2p – 11:30p**
