Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services, delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers and coworkers, and stay up-to-date with evolving automotive technology.

You will train and mentor teammates, maintain a clean, safe workstation, and adhere to store policies and safety guidelines. A valid driver's license and flexible shifts including weekends are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Perform all general service technician tasks as needed.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals (employees/customers).
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop environment.
