Job Description

Summary

Performs basic inspections, diagnostic and mechanic services for automobiles and light trucks, ensuring optimal customer service and adherence to safety regulations when operating machinery, equipment, and tools. Manages inventory, requisitions stock and supplies, and assists in facility maintenance.

Essential Job Functions

• Utilizes tire equipment to mount, balance, repair flats, perform rotations, and conduct diagnostic tests.
• Maintains knowledge of tire lines for inventory, procedures, inquiries, and shipping/receiving.
• Performs LOF and visual inspections, including under hood, under car, and wheel-off checks.
• Performs basic replacements such as batteries, filters, wipers, and bulbs.
• Performs alignments and flushes cooling systems, power steering, and transmissions.
• Conducts basic diagnostics, recognizing noise or vibration issues after road testing.
• Assists with facility maintenance and general duties.

Equipment/Tools

Operates equipment such as tire machines, lifts, impact guns, torque wrenches, and others safely and effectively.

Qualifications

Minimum training includes basic automotive services, starting/charging systems, tire knowledge, maintenance, and diagnostic skills.

Ability to read and interpret safety and operation manuals, write routine reports, and perform mathematical calculations.

Physical Demands

Regularly works standing, walking, using hands, and speaking. Frequently reaches, stoops, kneels, and lifts up to 75 pounds. Occasionally works seated, climbs, or balances.

Work Environment

Works full-time, including Saturdays, with occasional evenings and travel. Exposed to mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, noise, and outdoor conditions.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Compliance with drug-free policy and background check.
