Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic in Baytown, TX to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer service.

You will explain technical diagnoses to customers, stay updated with evolving automotive tech, and mentor teammates. Candidates should have basic auto repair experience, a valid driver's license, and be prepared for a full-time schedule that may include weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of automotive repair experience expected.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Ability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and teammates.
• Continuously learn new automotive tech through training.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians.
• Keep management informed of repair issues as they arise.
