Job summary

Pep Boys in Clearwater, FL is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tires and automotive services, delivering an excellent customer experience and explaining diagnoses to customers. The role requires continuous learning and mentoring coworkers while maintaining a clean, safe shop.

The position covers brake, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension, alignment, and general maintenance tasks, with opportunities to advance ASE certifications and work a variety of shifts.

Qualifications

• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians and maintain an organized, safe shop.
