Vector Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic in Wethersfield, CT to diagnose, repair, and maintain passenger vehicles and light trucks. This full-time role emphasizes high-quality workmanship and customer service.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of automotive repair experience, strong knowledge of engines and electrical systems, and the ability to read manuals and diagrams. On-site work with potential overtime and benefits.

• Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and scan tools.

Automotive Mechanic

Location: Wethersfield, Connecticut
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $25–$40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our service team in the Wethersfield, CT area. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining passenger vehicles and light trucks while delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.

The ideal candidate is dependable, technically skilled, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently as well as with a team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
• Perform engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and exhaust system repairs.
• Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, tune-ups, fluid services, and filter replacements.
• Troubleshoot check-engine lights, electrical systems, and vehicle performance issues.
• Perform tire installation, balancing, rotations, and alignment-related repairs.
• Inspect vehicles and identify additional maintenance or repair requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of automotive repair experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of gasoline engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
• Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and scan tools.
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical information.
• Knowledge of modern automotive electrical and electronic systems.
• Valid Connecticut driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage repair assignments efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE certifications.
• Dealership or independent repair shop experience.
• Experience with domestic and foreign vehicle makes.
• Hybrid and electric vehicle diagnostic experience.
• State of Connecticut emissions inspection certification, if applicable.

Requirements

• Ability to lift automotive components and equipment.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work under vehicles for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate lifts, jacks, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Need to provide your own set of mechanic’s tools
