Job description

Maintenance Technician A (III)

Transdev in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an experienced A-Level Automotive Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gas engines across various vehicles and equipment. As an Automotive Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our diesel-powered assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
  3. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
  4. Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  5. Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
  6. Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
  7. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
  8. Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of maintenance experience.
  2. ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
  3. Mechanic’s Tool Set.
  4. Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  2. The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  3. Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
