Job summary

A leading automotive service provider is seeking experienced automotive technicians to join their busy facilities. In this role, you'll perform a variety of diagnostics and repairs using advanced equipment while having the potential for a lucrative commission-based income. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge in automotive systems, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a valid driver’s license. Tools are required, and opportunities for specialty tools are provided. Weekend availability is necessary.

Qualifications

Job description

Midas of Greenwood and Midas of Columbus are seeking automotive technicians/mechanics for our busy full-service facilities. We need automotive technicians to help us create an environment of success!

Responsibilities

As a Midas automotive technician, you’ll have responsibility for performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs and maintenance, including:

• Diagnostics using state-of-the-art computer systems
• Tires and tire repair
• Car heating and air conditioning
• Steering and suspension
• Belts and hoses
• Radiator and engine cooling systems
• Batteries, starting and charging
• Steering and suspension
• Brakes and brake repair
• Oil changes
• Check engine light
• Mufflers and exhaust services
• Visual safety and courtesy inspections

Qualifications

• Ability to repair vehicles independently, while also having experience working well in a team environment
• Knowledge in automotive brakes, exhaust, suspension, & engine diagnostics
• Experience using shop equipment such as lifts, tire changing equipment, alignment machines and scan tools
• High School Diploma or equivalent - technical degree a definite plus
• Valid driver’s license
• Provide own tools; diagnostic scanner is a plus but not required
• Able to service both foreign and domestic vehicles

Pay is commission-based, so technicians are paid based on the amount of work completed, not just hours worked. This is a very busy shop, so there is opportunity to secure a very good income for motivated technicians. You must provide your own tools; we will provide any specialty tools needed. Our shops are open Monday through Saturday, so you must be able to work Saturdays until 5:00 in Columbus and until 6:00 in Greenwood.
