Qualifications

Responsibilities

This position focuses on maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles, powered tools, and construction equipment to ensure dependable and safe operation. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct inspections, service vehicles, and complete repairs across a large variety of automotive and construction equipment
  • System Repairs: Fix issues involving electrical systems, cooling components, suspension, steering, fuel systems, braking mechanisms, and driveline parts
  • Safety Inspections: Carry out official state safety and emissions inspections, complete required documentation, and verify compliance with standards
  • Field Service: Perform roadside or field repairs when necessary and provide support outside the main garage at County Stockpiles
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate service records, assist with parts identification, and support environmental requirements and training
  • Operational Support: Work independently and with crews, follow all workplace procedures, and help demonstrate repair methods to other employees
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Travel, overtime and shift work is required. Work hours are subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,819.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
  • Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of a current and valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license.
  • This position requires possession of a valid Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
