Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares instructions regarding purchasing system and procedures.
• Directs the preparation of and issues of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
• Designs and develops systems to implement purchasing, production scheduling, inventory control and traffic for uninterrupted flow of materials.
• Develops plant purchasing procedures in line with policies.
• Develops requirements for parts suppliers to improve timeliness of deliveries.
• Develops and implements visual inventory management on the production floor.
• Maintains inventories to ensure availability of materials and parts.
• Sets guidelines with suppliers to improve efficiency and cost savings while maintaining flow of materials.
• Assists in developing inventory budgets and provides guidance to plant personnel on inventory management.
• Develops procedures to handle engineering changes during the model year.
• Assists as required in Vendor Quality Assurance Program.
• Develops procedures to handle changes in product to coordinate parts and materials with suppliers and customers.
• Ensures supplies are delivered on time to support production and finished goods shipment.
• Implements computer technology to achieve orderly manufacture and on-time delivery.
• Maintains Bill of Material and databases for manufacturing system software.
• Utilizes continuous improvement methods.
• Complies with all Company Safety policies.
