Job summary

Bridgestone America, Inc. in Des Moines, IA is seeking an entry-level Automotive Maintenance Technician to join the Firestone Complete Auto Care team.

You will learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems, perform tire maintenance, oil changes, and road test vehicles as part of a collaborative shop environment. Qualifications

• Entry-level position requiring ability to learn basic mechanical tasks.
• Must have a valid automobile driver's license at all times and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Reading, writing, and math skills expected; experience in auto service industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, exhaust, and electrical.
• Perform oil changes and scheduled maintenance services.
• Install and perform tire maintenance and inspect braking components.
• Install batteries and shock absorbers and check electrical systems.
• Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and maintenance.
