Job Summary

We are seeking a Lube/General Service Automotive Technician to join our successful automotive service center. You will be responsible for servicing and performing minor repairs on vehicles, using service center software, and understanding vehicle systems. A 'never give up' attitude and problem-solving mindset are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing service procedures and maintaining technical documentation
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Conduct digital vehicle inspections and document findings
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and clear communication of repair needs
  • Prepare vehicles for service by noting issues and protecting vehicles from residue
  • Perform maintenance inspections and communicate findings
  • Complete oil changes per manufacturer specifications, double-checking drain plugs and filters
  • Handle waiting oil changes promptly
  • Apply service stickers and assist with shop organization and cleanliness
  • Assist with shop duties like retrieving mail, cleaning, and maintaining supplies
  • Ensure outside area is tidy and vehicles are secure
  • Perform alignments and emissions inspections if certified
  • Manage tire repairs, puncture sealing, and wheel balancing
  • Assist technicians, service writers, and office staff as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years of experience as a general service technician
  • Emissions certification
  • Experience with vehicle alignments
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Good time management and decision-making skills
  • Clean driving record
