Global Connect Technologies in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced Lighting Design Release Engineer (DRE) to develop, validate, and release automotive lighting components and assemblies. You will collaborate with Styling, Engineering, Manufacturing and Tier‑I suppliers to ensure lighting systems meet design intent, performance targets, cost, quality, and manufacturability.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Lighting Design Release Engineer or similar automotive lighting role.
• Hands-on CATIA V6 experience for automotive component design and 3D modeling.
• Strong knowledge of interior and exterior automotive lighting systems and components.
• Experience with Tier‑I suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and release automotive interior and exterior lighting components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with Styling to conduct feasibility studies and review surfaces.
• Design and develop lighting components and detailed part models using CATIA V6.
• Manage the complete design release process for lighting components and assemblies.
• Coordinate with Tier‑I suppliers to evaluate design alternatives and trade-offs.
• Apply manufacturing knowledge to ensure robust, production-ready designs.
• Review simulation results and incorporate engineering recommendations.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and ensure product integration.
• Ensure lighting designs meet functional, dimensional, quality, durability, and manufacturability requirements.
• Support design reviews, engineering changes, and timely releases throughout development lifecycle.
