Job summary

Patrick Cadillac in Schaumburg, IL, is hiring Automotive Journeymen to join our Cadillac Service team. We are part of the Patrick Dealer Group, one of Chicago’s largest automotive dealerships, offering a collaborative, award-winning environment.

We provide full union pay and benefits via Local 701 ($47.25 per book hour for Journeymen), employee discounts, an referral program, EAP and FSA. Eligible candidates have 2–3 years journeyman experience; ASE and GM Center of Learning training preferred,

Qualifications

• Experience as Journeyman automotive mechanic (2–3 years).
• Clean driving record is required.
• Willingness to submit to drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Service Advisors to discuss work and future repair requirements.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C).
• Perform warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.
• Work efficiently and accurately per repair orders and standards.
• Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow safety protocols.

What We’re Looking For:

• Automotive Experience: Minimum2 - 3 years Journeyman level Automotive Mechanic experience
• Preferred Qualifications: ASE Certification and/or General Motors Center of Learning Training.
• Clean Driving Record: A valid and clean driving record is essential.
• Compliance: Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check.
• Age Requirement: Must be 19 years of age or older.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Service Advisors: Discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
• Diagnose and Repair: Maintain and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Warranty Repairs: Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Efficient Work: Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Vehicle Inspections: Conduct proper vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements in automotive technology.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Educational Background: One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
