Position Summary

The Lead Technician requires experience and technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while using leadership and mentoring skills to improve customer care and satisfaction.

Pay Range

$23.40 - $41.03

Our technicians enjoy a performance-based flat-rate pay system, rewarding efficiency and expertise. Rates reflect regional productivity averages.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and repairs clearly to non-mechanical individuals.
  • Stay current with automotive technology through ongoing paid training.
  • Assist and train technicians/mechanics in technical activities.
  • Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least five areas within two years, with company-paid tests and bonuses for passing exams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
  • Skilled in brakes diagnosis/repair, alignment, steering, suspension, general automotive maintenance, and tire repair.
  • Current federal, state, and local certifications/licenses where applicable.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient reading, writing, and math skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, engine performance, automatic and manual transmissions, heating/AC.
  • Five years of automotive repair experience or vocational training.
  • A.S.E. certification in at least three areas, with Brakes and Steering & Suspension preferred.
