Roush in Livonia, MI is seeking an Automotive Laboratory Technician Co-op to support engineering testing for vehicle development, data collection, and regulatory testing. You will set up test rigs, operate control software, and ensure data integrity.

The role is paid, requires enrollment in mechanical or automotive engineering, and offers 40+ hours per week Aug–Dec 2026 with collaboration alongside engineers to meet ISO standards and calibration procedures.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Available for 40+ hours per week M-F from August to December 2026.
• Experience in mechanical engineering or fabrication.
• Good computer skills and ability to learn new skills.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal.
• Good customer service and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of automotive powertrain systems, fuel systems or materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vehicle setup on test rigs for suspension development and NVH testing.
• Execute test procedures and operate rigs and control software to collect data.
• Perform preliminary data analysis and quality checks.
• Maintain test rigs, sensors, and calibration equipment; document changes.
• Collaborate with engineers to achieve experimental conditions and plan tests.
• Diagnose issues with test setups and data acquisition systems; ensure ISO compliance.
