Job summary

Marquardt U.S. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead automotive interior switch development from concept through production launch.

You will work with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality products, applying NX CAD, DFMEA, and robust problem‑solving to drive design iterations and validation activities. The role emphasizes ownership of projects, strong collaboration, and a focus on manufacturability, testing, and continuous improvement within a fast‑paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years of mechanical product development experience, preferably in automotive.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX CAD software; CATIA V5 experience welcomed.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, plastics, and high‑volume injection molding.
• Experience with DFMEA, DFM, and other engineering quality tools.
• Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem‑solving methodologies.
• Ability to interpret simulation results including FEA and thermal analyses.
• Proficiency in engineering calculations including tolerance stack‑ups and stress/force analysis.
• Ability to support testing activities, troubleshoot issues, and interpret results.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage engineering tasks and lead projects.
• Strong teamwork and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering activities for assigned projects across the product lifecycle.
• Develop designs, drawings, and specifications for new or modified products.
• Define mechanical requirements from system specs and customer expectations.
• Investigate issues and implement practical, cost‑effective solutions.
• Perform engineering calculations and interpret results from analyses.
• Conduct validation testing and support DV/PV testing activities.
• Collaborate with industrial, tooling, and manufacturing teams to develop production equipment.
• Maintain project schedules and engineering deliverables.
• Prepare and deliver customer presentations on designs and updates.
• Coordinate activities across cross‑functional teams to meet program objectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering best practices.
