WyoTech in Wyoming is seeking an experienced Automotive Instructor to bring real-world industry experience into the classroom and train the next generation of skilled technicians.

Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required; the role includes curriculum development, grading, and using CANVAS LMS to deliver lessons. The position offers competitive benefits and the chance to contribute to a thriving automotive program at WyoTech.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Employee and Student Handbooks
• Enforce WyoTech policies and procedures
• Complete documentation promptly (grades, attendance, etc)
• Submit grades and materials to Registrar as directed
• Support EPA and safety procedures in class
• Maintain and repair class equipment and tools
• Attend instructor meetings and graduation events
• Contribute to curriculum development
• Encourage student motivation and professionalism
• Ensure clear lesson objectives and prep in advance
• Utilize CANVAS LMS to update materials and delivery
• Demonstrate teaching competency

WyoTech is seeking a passionate Automotive Instructor who is ready to bring real-world industry experience into the classroom and help train the next generation of skilled technicians. Duties And Responsibilities

• Comprehend and apply the contents in the Employee Handbook and Student Handbook
• Adhere to and ensure the enforcement of WyoTech policies and procedures
• Accurately complete all necessary documentation promptly
• Complete as directed all responsibilities involving submission of grades, tests, attendance, and all other designated materials to the Registrar
• Be conversant in and support EPA and safety procedures
• Maintain and attend to the repair of class equipment and tool inventory
• Attend regularly scheduled instructor meetings
• Attend graduation and registration
• Participate in curriculum development
• Encourage motivation and enthusiasm in the shop and classroom
• Make students aware of professionalism infractions
• Encourage students to do safe, quality work
• Prepare adequately for class and shop prior to start time
• Explain the requirements for each lesson completely
• Establish a feeling of need; create interest, and clearly state lesson objectives in lesson introductions
• Provide appropriate information, resources, and assignments for a lesson (text, reference books, information sheets)
• Work with and utilize the CANVAS LMS system to update presentations and delivery information
• Demonstrate items to strengthen student understanding
• Demonstrate competency in teaching

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
• Work Verification
• Background check
• 7 years’ experience within the last 10 years, or upon Approval by the Licensing and Training Director
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years with Associates
