Job summary

Johnson Electric in Springfield, TN is seeking an Injection Molding Process Technician (2nd shift) to develop, optimize and sustain injection molding processes for automotive components. You will drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement across molding operations.

The ideal candidate has a degree in engineering or manufacturing, at least 3 years in injection molding, and strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in injection molding processes, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of injection molding equipment, tooling, and plastic materials.
• Proven experience in process troubleshooting, optimization, and problem-solving.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, process documentation, and specifications.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, establish, and optimize injection molding processes for automotive components
• Monitor and adjust machine parameters to maintain product quality and manufacturing efficiency
• Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement corrective actions to improve performance
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements
• Maintain and control process documentation, parameter settings, and engineering changes
• Train operators and technicians on molding processes, standards, and best practices
• Lead and support continuous improvement activities focused on reducing scrap and improving cycle times
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements across all molding operations
