Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products seeks an experienced HIL Validation Engineer to drive development of HIL test systems for automotive ECUs. The role requires strong expertise in Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, CAN networks, and dSPACE environments, with collaboration across software, controls, and validation teams.

The ideal candidate will configure SCALEXIO hardware, integrate plant models, develop automated test scripts, and deliver validated test environments and reports to support ECU qualification

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of hands-on HIL experience in automotive environments.
• Experience with dSPACE hardware/software and CAN networks.
• Strong ability to design, configure, and validate HIL test benches.
• Familiarity with automotive ECU validation methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and configure HIL test systems for automotive ECUs.
• Configure dSPACE SCALEXIO hardware and software components.
• Create HIL test benches with I/O configuration and signal conditioning.
• Use dSPACE ConfigurationDesk and ControlDesk for real-time control and monitoring.
• Integrate ECU hardware with real-time plant models.
• Develop and maintain HIL environments per requirements.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and integration issues.
• Develop and execute ECU functional and system-level test cases.
• Perform automated and manual HIL testing.
• Analyze CAN traces using CANalyzer/CANoe and diagnose issues.
