Job Description

The Lube and Tire Technician at Monro, also called General Service Tech, is an entry-level automotive technician role and a great career starting point. From day one, you'll participate in comprehensive mechanic training covering all aspects of your role. As a team member, you'll perform maintenance services on guest vehicles, contribute to delivering 5-star guest experiences, and ensure customers have safe, reliable transportation.

Pay is based on experience, plus incentives (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Keyholder Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Supervising the shop in the absence of the Store Manager
  • Handling end-of-day paperwork and cash
  • Assisting the store manager with duties and responsibilities
• Performing mechanic duties such as changing, mounting, and installing tires
• Wheel removal, tire repair and balancing, patching and plugging tires
• Conducting quick lube services like oil changes and lubrication
• Inspecting and rotating tires
• Performing basic automotive maintenance like battery installation
• Training to do alignments, brake services, and scheduled maintenance

Compensation

The hourly range for this role is $16 - $18 based on experience. Additional compensation and incentives are available, with pay determined by experience level.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED
• Automotive experience
• Own basic set of mechanics tools or participate in tool purchase program
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 18 years old
• Positive attitude and collaborative mindset

• Ability to work overhead, stand long periods, and lift 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an Automotive Technician or Lube and Tire Tech
