Job Description

The Lube and Tire Technician at Monro, also called General Service Tech, is an entry-level automotive technician role ideal for starting your career. From day one, you will begin comprehensive mechanic training covering all aspects of your role. As a General Service Technician, you will perform maintenance services on guest vehicles, working with a team to deliver 5-star guest experiences, ensuring safe and reliable transportation.

Pay is based on experience, with additional incentives if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Keyholder Duties (including supervision of shop when Store Manager is unavailable, end-of-day paperwork, cash handling, assisting the store manager)
• Mechanic duties such as changing, mounting, and installing tires
• Wheel removal, tire repair and balancing, patching and plugging tires
• Quick lube tasks like oil changes and lubrication
• Inspecting and rotating tires
• Basic automotive maintenance, e.g., battery installation
• Training to perform alignments, brake services, and scheduled maintenance

Compensation

The hourly range for this role is $16 - $18, based on experience. Additional compensation and incentives are available, with pay determined by experience level.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Automotive experience
• Own basic set of mechanic tools or participate in tool purchase program
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 18 years old
• Positive attitude and collaborative mindset

• Ability to work with hands overhead, stand for long periods, lift 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive technician or tire experience
