Job Description

The Lube and Tire Technician at Monro, also called General Service Tech, is an entry-level Automotive Technician role and a great starting point for your career. You will begin a comprehensive mechanic training program covering all aspects of your role. As a General Service Technician, you will perform maintenance services on guest vehicles and work with a team to deliver 5-star guest experiences, ensuring safe, reliable transportation.

Pay is based on experience, plus incentives (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Keyholder duties include but are not limited to:
• Supervising the shop when the Store Manager is not present
• Handling end-of-day paperwork and cash
• Assisting the store manager in their duties
• Mechanic duties include changing, mounting, and installing tires, wheel removal, tire repair and balancing, tire patching/plugging, oil changes, tire rotation, basic maintenance like battery installation, and training for alignments, brake services, and scheduled maintenance.

Compensation: The hourly range is $16 - $17 based on experience. Additional compensation and incentives are available, and pay will be determined accordingly.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED
• Automotive experience
• Own basic tools or participate in the tool purchase program
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Positive attitude and collaborative mindset
• Ability to work overhead, stand long periods, and lift 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an Automotive Technician or Lube and Tire Tech
