Job Description

About The Role:

The General Service Technician role is a full-time or part-time hourly position based on business needs. Responsibilities include performing routine vehicle repairs and maintenance according to company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role emphasizes delivering exceptional 5-star guest service, communicating vehicle issues effectively, and meeting guest expectations for time and quality.

Salary Range: $16.00 per hour, with potential additional incentives.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently and according to standards.
2. Conduct tire services including removal, balancing, patching, changing, mounting, and TPMS repairs.
3. Perform vehicle services such as oil changes, lubrications, basic maintenance, and battery testing/installation.
4. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, identifying and communicating additional needed services.
5. Assist with inventory management and store duties, maintaining cleanliness and readiness.
6. Follow safety standards, including wheel torque and oil safety procedures.
7. Test drive vehicles following company policies, observing safety laws.
8. Adhere to company policies, environmental, and safety standards.
9. Maintain technical knowledge through training and operate equipment safely.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Automotive training or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a good Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Own basic tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.

Profile Summary:

• Proactive problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Work in an automotive shop with exposure to noise, weather, chemicals, and dust. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and perform physical tasks like bending and reaching.
