SET’s Automotive Finishing Technicians are responsible for prepping new Toyota vehicles and parts for painting and repair work. Our Finishing Techs also prep new vehicle paint options including spoilers, step boards, mirrors, mudguards, flares, and body side molding.
Responsibilities
- Driving vehicles from staging areas to specific workstations
- Cleaning, sanding, masking and buffing affected surfaces.
- Breakdown and reassembly of units for painting
- Removal of masking materials and inspection of painted surfaces
- Returning the finished vehicle to the appropriate staging area or inspect & pack parts for shipment as needed.
Qualifications
- Training and/or work experience in a paint or body shop, making interior corrections or other Brush Touch-Up work.
- Professional certification and/or technical school completion preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required; excellent Motor Vehicle Record, ability to drive manual transmission vehicles preferred.
- Quality and production oriented with a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions to consistently apply Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) and Southeast Toyota Distributors (SET) process procedures.
- Ability to lift & carry up to 75 pounds as well as demonstrate full range of motion (bending, squatting, and standing for extended periods of time as well as pinching, grasping and full use of hands).
- Willing and able to utilize all required safety equipment and follow proper refinishing procedures in compliance with OSHA and company guidelines. This includes the ability to wear a forced air respirator.
- Work effectively with teammates and within JM Family culture of Cooperation, Consideration and Communication.
- Maintain excellent work and attendance record with demonstrated flexibility to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays as needed.
- Our core operating hours are Monday – Friday / 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (Overtime is required on Saturdays depending on production needs)
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Able to utilize good time management skills and prioritize work effectively.
- Ability to work outdoors/indoors in non-climate-controlled environments and preparedness to adapt to changing weather conditions.
- Candidates are expected to cross-train and assist as needed within multiple departments at our Vehicle Processing Center.
