Job summary

AV Chevy in Lancaster, CA seeks an experienced Automotive Controller to lead the dealership's accounting operations, close processes, and financial reporting. You will partner with sales, service, parts, and financing to improve profitability and support strategic decisions.

This in-person role offers ownership and visibility, with a salary range of $120,000 to $160,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience leading an accounting function in an automotive dealership.
• Strong command of financial statements, GL management, reconciliations and internal controls.
• Clear communication of financial information to executives and department leaders.
• Attention to detail, sound judgment, confidentiality, and deadline-driven prioritization.
• Proficient with accounting systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools; dealership systems experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations and month-end close; ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, schedules, reconciliations, budgets, and forecasts for leadership.
• Oversee cash management, AP/AR, payroll coordination, and general ledger accuracy.
• Partner with sales, service, parts, and financing to identify trends and improve profitability.
• Guide and develop accounting staff while ensuring policy compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Support audits, tax documentation, inventory accounting, and process improvements.
