Zusammenfassung

ITW is seeking a Design Engineer for the Deltar Fasteners division in Frankfort, KY, to lead the design and development of plastic fasteners and assemblies. You will collaborate with customers and suppliers across the product lifecycle to deliver high-performance, cost-effective automotive solutions.

The role requires a BS in engineering, proficiency in SolidWorks or NX, and experience with or ability to learn FEA tools, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifikationen

• BS in Engineering or related scientific discipline.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
• Self-motivated with a strong drive for results; able to inspire others.
• In-depth knowledge of plastic products in automotive environments.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks and/or NX).
• Experience with or ability to learn Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.

Aufgaben

• Serve as project manager for assigned projects with sales team and customers.
• Create preliminary concepts, detailed drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Develop innovative design concepts for automotive fasteners and assemblies.
• Evaluate designs for feasibility, manufacturability, and performance.
• Research alternative engineering approaches to enhance product performance.
• Compare design options with Innovation team for optimal solutions.
• Perform functional and validation testing for reliability and compliance.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding material specs and requirements.
• Prepare and submit patent applications for novel designs.
• Benchmark competitive products for differentiation.
