Job summary

Magna Exteriors is seeking a Product Engineer to contribute to the design and development of exterior automotive components. The role focuses on product and process development for new programs, with responsibilities spanning proto tooling, cost/timing, and cross-functional coordination.

The ideal candidate has a BS degree in a related field and 1–3 years of diversified engineering experience, with travel as needed to support OEM launches and part development.

Qualifications

• Education/Special Knowledge/Skills – BS degree in related field, or equivalent job experience preferred.
• Experience – 1 to 3 years of diversified engineering experience preferred.
• Physical Demands/Work Environment - Normal sitting/standing, mobility, travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support program management in product and process development including prototype tooling and builds.
• Create & execute goals, timing and cost for project(s).
• Communicate/coordinate projects between program management, engineering, customer representatives and corporate representative.
• Assist in material procurement and support for prototype build operations in coordination with divisional resources.
• Identifies design work and creates design specifications for complex product components to improve feasibility.
• Analyzes complex design problems and derives engineering conclusions using engineering/mathematical principles.
• Consults with personnel in various engineering activities related to design, drafting, and experimental construction of product components.
• Provides technical support and follow-up on Design/Product Validation activities.
• Travel as necessary to support Division and OEM launch activities or part development.
• Provides engineering direction and support to design personnel.
