Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group seeks a Lighting Design Release Engineer (Lighting DRE) in Irvine, CA. The role requires 6 months to 3+ years of experience in automotive exterior lighting design and release, with strong CATIA V6 skills and collaboration with Styling and Tier-1 suppliers.

The candidate will support design validation, review lighting components for quality and manufacturability, and work on headlamps, tail lamps, and center light panels within a cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 3+ years of Lighting DRE experience.
• Experience with automotive exterior lighting systems.
• Strong hands-on CATIA V6 experience.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, and release of exterior lighting components and assemblies.
• Work on headlamps, tail lamps, center light panels, and other exterior lighting systems.
• Perform design and feasibility studies with Styling and cross-functional teams.
• Create and release lighting components using CATIA V6.
• Review A-class surfaces, craftsmanship, manufacturability, and design feasibility.
• Collaborate with Tier-1 suppliers on design, cost, mass, joining methods, molding, and testing.
• Support design validation and implement simulation recommendations.
• Ensure lighting components meet quality, functionality, manufacturing, and program requirements.
