Roush in Livonia, MI is seeking a Development Engineer II to perform engine or vehicle-based development and testing while coordinating with CAD Services, Testing, Machine Shop and Engine Build.

This hands-on role supports design activities and conducts data analysis, prepares technical reports for status reviews and sign-off, and helps manage test hardware inventory.

The position emphasizes teamwork, problem solving and timely communication across departments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct frequent analysis of collected test data.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations for status reviews and project sign-off.

Job Summary:
The Development Engineer II is a hands-on engineering position in a dynamic product development or
testing environment. This role will be responsible for performing engine or vehicle-based development
and testing while coordinating with a diverse group of departments to ensure project success. The
Development Engineer II will support design activities. The position is in Livonia, MI.

As a Development Engineer Il, you will:

• Support multiple engineering and testing projects for a variety of customers
• Coordinate internal support activities in both professional and shop environment departments (CAD Services, Testing, Machine Shop, Engine Build, Fabrication, Garage Services)
• Perform engine and vehicle-based testing
• Conduct frequent analysis of collected test data
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations for status reviews and project sign-off
• Manage inventory of engine/vehicle components and related test hardware
• Support component and system design activities, as needed

To be considered as a Development Engineer Il, you will need:

• Minimum 2 years of development experience
• Strong hands-on mechanical background
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment
• Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently in a dynamic environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

A successfulcandidate may also have:

• 2 years of dynamometer testing and system integration experience
• Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently in a dynamic environment
• Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) dynamometer-based mapping or hardware development experience
• Experience with testing software tools such as AVL suite software (Indicom, PUMA, Concerto), ATI Vision, ETAS INCA
• Data processing with MATLAB, Python, Concerto and automated script writing
• Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD), instrumentation, data acquisition systems, data processing software and powertrain calibration tools
