Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Detroit seeks an experienced engineer to design, integrate, and validate embedded hardware and software for automotive testing platforms. You will shape hardware architectures, PCB layouts, and ECU interfaces while collaborating across cross-functional teams to ensure robust hardware-software integration.

Responsibilities include prototyping, electrical validation, sign-off, and maintaining end-to-end traceability with modern design artifacts and test reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience with embedded hardware and firmware development.
• Familiarity with automotive testing environments and Linux audio stacks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, integrate, test, and document reusable embedded hardware and software assets for automotive automation-enabled testing.
• Develop SmartBench hardware architecture, schematics, and PCB layout based on approved designs.
• Support prototypes, design reviews, electrical validation, and signoff.
• Create hardware interfaces and peripheral configurations for automotive BCM operation.
• Develop software simulation control for BCM I/O functionality and validation.
• Define hardware/software test-environment requirements for multiple platforms.
• Store artifacts in approved repositories and maintain end-to-end traceability.
• Coordinate hardware and software workstreams across onsite/offshore teams.
