Job summary

Island Tech Services is hiring a full-time Auto Installer to build and outfit police, fire, and emergency vehicles with essential equipment. This hands-on role delivers high‑quality, timely work across fast‑paced projects and is based in person.

The ideal candidate has background in vehicle electronics, wiring, and diagnostic procedures, is detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Experience with vehicle upfitting or automotive electronics preferred.
• Knowledge of wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Ability to read manuals and diagnose electrical issues.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform custom installations of emergency lighting, sirens, radios, partitions, and other vehicle components.
• Wire and test electronic components for proper function and safety.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and quality standards.
• Document work performed, parts used, and time spent per requirements.
• Collaborate with technicians to meet project deadlines.
• Maintain clean, organized workspace and care for tools.
• Stay updated with upfitting technology and best practices.

This is hands on, fast paced work where you'll go home knowing you worked on something that actually matters.

Key Responsibilities
