Job summary

Dejana Truck & Utility Equipment is seeking Wiring Technicians to up-fit a wide range of truck and utility equipment, from vans to Class 8/9 trucks. You will read blueprints, install equipment, and follow safe procedures in a manufacturing setting.

We offer competitive hourly pay from $18.00 to $27.00 per hour, with compensation based on experience, plus a benefits suite. Candidates should have basic vehicle electrical knowledge and the ability to work independently in a shop environment.

• Demonstrate self-starting electrical knowledge and troubleshoot simple installations.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

Wiring Technicians work on up-fitting a wide range of truck and utility equipment, spanning from Vans to Class 8/9 Trucks. They should have experience in assembling and installing equipment and products in accordance with standard operating procedures.

• Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble/install equipment and products.
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
• Perform all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
• Confer with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problems.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Always work in a safe manner.
• Be self-starting with basic vehicle electrical knowledge.
• Learn/follow established company electrical guidelines.
• Be proficient at troubleshooting simple electrical installations.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS

• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge and experience of 12-volt electrical diagnostics and wiring.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Attention to detail with the ability to follow verbal directions and written instructions.
• A team-player with a good work ethic (courteous, flexible punctual and professional).

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 year or less of work-related experience or education.
• Knowledge and experience of installing electrical equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Majority of the time will be spent sitting, standing, and walking on hard surfaces, for prolonged periods of time.
• Substantial amount of pushing, pulling, and lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
• Mechanical, installation, and hand-eye coordination skills.
• This job is predominantly indoors in a shop/manufacturing setting and will occur in the production area. Although the position is indoors there will be varying temperatures between different areas.
• Will encounter a substantial amount of varying background noise.
