Job summary

FlexTek is seeking a Product Development Engineer in the Greater Houston area with a focus on automotive electrical components. You will lead development from concept to production, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure design integrity and quality.

The role requires hands-on engineering experience with 12V systems and vehicle electronics, plus familiarity with DFMEA/FMEA and PPAP processes. On-site collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

3+ years of automotive product design or engineering experience.
Experience with electrical components, 12V systems, wiring, or vehicle electronics.
Background with an automotive OEM or Tier 1/Tier 2 supplier.
Familiarity with DFMEA/FMEA and PPAP processes.
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion 360.
Understanding of automotive manufacturing and product testing.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage automotive accessory development from concept through production launch.
Work on electrical components, wiring harnesses, lighting, and vehicle integration.
Coordinate with suppliers on product design, testing, and quality.
Support product validation, testing, and PPAP processes.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.
Troubleshoot product issues and identify design or process improvements.
