Job summary

Killeen ISD is seeking a Teacher Assistant - Automotive to support the automotive program under the supervision of a certified teacher. The aide will assist with student groups, monitor the classroom, and help maintain equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities include reinforcing learning, following the teacher's instruction strategies, preparing teaching aids, and assisting with attendance and student behavior processes. This role supports student achievement in automotive coursework.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience with general automotive and construction related skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write correspondence.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor learning environment to ensure safety and organization.
• Maintain inventory and secure equipment in automotive classrooms.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in devising strategies based on individual student needs.
• Operate and care for equipment and instructional materials as assigned.
• Present subject matter using varied methods and techniques.
• Prepare, administer, and grade notebooks, papers, tests under teacher supervision.
• Attend after-school meetings or trainings as required.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the teacher or principal.
