Job summary

OnPoint Insights LLC is seeking a CAE Durability Engineer to lead durability and fatigue analyses for automotive applications. The role involves developing and validating CAE models, running linear and nonlinear analyses, and correlating results with physical tests to drive design improvements.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering background, strong Fatigue/FEA knowledge, and experience with Abaqus/ANSYS/Nastran, as well as scripting for automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience performing CAE durability and fatigue analysis for automotive applications.
• Proficiency with tools such as Abaqus, ANSYS, or Nastran.
• Experience with HyperMesh or ANSA and fatigue tools such as nCode DesignLife or fe-safe.
• Strong understanding of fatigue, material behavior, structural mechanics, and FEA fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform FEA to assess stress, strain, fatigue life, and structural durability.
• Develop and validate CAE models, including meshing, material properties, loads, and boundary conditions.
• Conduct linear and nonlinear structural analyses under representative operating conditions.
• Correlate simulation results with physical testing and investigate discrepancies.
• Recommend design improvements to meet durability and performance requirements.
• Document findings and collaborate with design, testing, and product engineering teams.
