Lithia & Driveway’s L0181 Mercedes-Benz of Des Moines is hiring a Diesel Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and related systems at our Des Moines, IA service center. You will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs per manufacturer specifications, ensuring quality and safety in every job.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of diesel experience, ASE certifications or equivalent training, and a valid driver's license with a clean record.

What You'll Do

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, and related mechanical components. Perform diesel engine diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs according to manufacturer specifications. Inspect, diagnose, and repair braking systems, steering, suspension, electrical systems, and HVAC components. Utilize diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and technical service information to identify and resolve vehicle concerns. Complete diesel vehicle inspections, road tests, and quality checks to ensure accurate and reliable repairs. Document diagnostic findings, completed repairs, and labor time accurately in repair orders. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized service bay while following manufacturer and dealership safety standards.

What You'll Bring

3+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or Automotive Service Technician with diesel repair experience. Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, fuel systems, and mechanical components. Knowledge of diesel diagnostics, preventative maintenance, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and suspension. Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and manufacturer repair procedures. ASE certifications or manufacturer-specific technical training. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
