Job description

Performs skilled work of considerable difficulty involving repairing, overhauling, and maintenance of diesel engines and a variety of automotive, construction, and related equipment. Work involves diagnosing malfunctions in light and heavy motorized equipment, removing and replacing or rebuilding worn or broken parts, and maintaining records of work performed. Employee is also responsible for maintaining inventories of replacement parts and supplies; and related work as required.

1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency Diploma issued by a State Department of Education.
2. A valid driver's license.
3. Five (5) years of full-time experience as a journeyman diesel mechanic performing diesel engine repair.

A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
