East Irondequoit Central School District is seeking an Automotive Mechanic for the Transportation Department. This 12-month, full-time role includes performing inspections, oil changes, and using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues.

The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, a valid NYS Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and automotive experience or certification. Working hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a half-hour unpaid lunch.

There is an opening for an Automotive Mechanic in the Transportation Department of East Irondequoit Central School District. This is a 12-month, 8-hour per day position working 8:30 AM-5:00 PM with a ½ hour unpaid lunch.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled inspections, oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
• Use computer software and diagnostic tools to isolate engine, electrical, and mechanical failures.
• Ensure all brake systems, emergency exits, and suspension components meet DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date work orders and repair logs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid NYS Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement or eligibility to obtain.
• Professional diesel or heavy-duty automotive experience and/or automotive certification preferred.
