Automotive Design Engineer – Brakes & Wheels

We are seeking an Automotive Design Engineer – Brakes & Wheels with strong CATIA V6 skills to support the design and development of automotive brake and wheel components.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive brake and wheel components.
• Create robust 3D models using CATIA V6 and develop and interpret 2D engineering drawings.
• Apply GD&T, design intent, robust modeling practices, and design-for-manufacturability principles.
• Collaborate with design engineers, test engineers, and suppliers to investigate and resolve technical issues.
• Evaluate technical proposals and communicate engineering recommendations.
• Interpret basic CAE results, including stiffness and natural-frequency analysis.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities while supporting development schedules.
• Prepare technical documentation and communicate research and test results.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of related engineering or design experience.
• Experience designing and developing automotive components.
• Proficiency in CATIA V6, including strong solid-modeling skills.
• Understanding of design intent and robust modeling practices.
• Ability to create and interpret 2D engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and design for manufacturability.
• Ability to independently analyze technical problems and collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers.
• Strong project management, prioritization, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous automotive brake and wheel design experience.
• CATIA V6 surface-modeling experience.
• Experience designing complex aluminum die-cast or stamped and welded structures.
• Experience creating basic CAE models or interpreting CAE results.
