Job summary

Katalyst-Healthcares- is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design and develop automotive chassis components. You will create robust CATIA V6 models and 2D drawings, applying GD&T and DFM to support manufacturing.

The role requires 5+ years of automotive design experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on schedule. This is a full-time position based in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering/design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive chassis components (suspension/steering, subframes, engine mounts, wheels, brakes, exhaust).
• Develop robust 3D models using CATIA V6.
• Create and interpret 2D drawings with GD&T and DFM.
• Collaborate with design/test engineers and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Evaluate proposals and provide engineering recommendations.
• Interpret basic CAE results (stiffness, natural frequency).
• Manage multiple projects and meet development schedules.
• Prepare technical docs and communicate test results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automotive chassis components, including suspension/steering, subframes, engine mounts, wheels, brakes, and fuel/exhaust systems.
• Develop robust 3D models using CATIA V6.
• Create and interpret 2D engineering drawings.
• Apply GD&T and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Collaborate with design engineers, test engineers, and suppliers to analyze and resolve technical issues.
• Evaluate technical proposals and provide engineering recommendations.
• Interpret basic CAE results, including stiffness and natural-frequency analysis.
• Manage multiple projects while meeting development schedules.
• Prepare technical documentation, communicate research, and test results.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant engineering/design experience.
• Automotive component design and development experience.
• Proficiency in CATIA V6 and strong solid-modeling skills.
• Understanding of design intent and robust modeling practices.
• Ability to create and interpret 2D engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and DFM principles.
• Ability to independently analyze technical problems and collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers.
• Strong project management and prioritization skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Automotive chassis design experience.
• CATIA V6 surface-modeling experience.
• Experience with suspension/steering components, subframes, engine mounts, wheels, brakes, or fuel/exhaust systems.
• Experience designing complex aluminum die-cast or stamped/welded structures.
• Experience creating or interpreting basic CAE models and results.
