Job summary

Nexteer Automotive in Michigan is seeking a product security engineer to join our automotive cybersecurity team. You will work with engineers to develop security concepts, perform threat analysis and risk assessment, and contribute to OEM requirement analyses.

The role covers security across hardware, software, and manufacturing, aligning with ISO 21434 and ISO 26262, and you will collaborate with global teams to support security throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Science.
• Experience in product cybersecurity or related areas is required.
• Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards and ISO 21434/ISO 26262 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate customer security requirements.
• Develop security concept through a structured process that involves threat analysis and risk assessment.
• Support concept implementation through the product development phases to include hardware, software, and manufacturing.
• Develop solutions to address the vulnerabilities found through system and software analysis.
• Support customer meetings to discuss and plan Cyber Security related activities.
• Develop work products that follow the ISO/SAE 21434 Road Vehicle Cybersecurity Engineering standard.
• Cross train in ISO/SAE 26262 Road Vehicles – Functional Safety.
