Job summary

HI-LEX Controls in Rochester Hills, MI seeks a Cost Estimator to coordinate and lead project costing efforts across engineering, purchasing, manufacturing and sales. You will prepare estimates, analyze BOMs, and ensure competitiveness and profitability for HI-LEX products.

Responsibilities include labor estimation, cost sheet migration to the CAXIOM tool, and presenting findings to management. Strong numeracy and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-year degree in engineering, finance, economics or equivalent; MBA or MS preferred.
• Experience with cost estimating and value engineering.
• Ability to read technical documents and interpret BOMs.
• Strong math, statistics and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead estimating efforts to ensure accurate costing for projects and programs.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Sales.
• Prepare cost estimates using the internal CAXIOM tool and maintain cost sheets.
• Create labor estimates and record actual costs for management review.
• Present estimates to management and stakeholders and support capacity planning.
