Job summary

Axiom Staffing Group is seeking a Rear Entry Van Line Conversion Technician in the United States to convert OEM vehicles into wheelchair-accessible mobility vans. You will perform teardown, mechanical assembly, and finish operations across the conversion process, removing OEM components, protecting reusable parts, and installing flooring, trim, seating, and wiring.

Ideal candidates have automotive technician or similar hands-on experience, can read assembly instructions, and lift up to 50

Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive technician, mechanic, collision repair, fabrication, or vehicle assembly preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions and work procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle heavier components with assistance.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform teardown, mechanical assembly, and finish operations for rear entry vehicle conversions.
  • Remove OEM components and protect reusable parts during teardown.
  • Install conversion components, flooring, trim, seating, wiring, and accessories.
  • Verify fitment, alignment, and functionality; follow work instructions and drawings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; follow PPE policies.

Job description

Axiom Staffing Group is recruiting multiple positions for Rear Entry Van Line Conversion Technician which is responsible for converting OEM vehicles into wheelchair-accessible mobility vans by performing teardown, mechanical assembly, and finish operations throughout the vehicle conversion process. Technicians are cross-trained across multiple production stations and work as part of a team to produce high-quality vehicles while meeting production, safety, and quality standards.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform teardown, mechanical assembly, and finish operations throughout the rear entry vehicle conversion process.Remove OEM vehicle components including interior trim, flooring, seating, fuel tanks, bumpers, and other components in preparation for conversion.Protect reusable vehicle components during the teardown process.Install conversion components, mechanical assemblies, flooring, trim, seating systems, lighting, cameras, wiring harnesses, and other vehicle accessories.Perform mechanical assembly including suspension, exhaust, fuel system, and other vehicle components.Read and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and production documentation.Verify proper fitment, alignment, functionality, and overall quality of completed work.Utilize electronic work orders and production tracking systems.Cross-train and perform work at multiple production stations based on production needs.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Follow all company safety policies and required PPE requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsAutomotive technician, mechanic, collision repair, fabrication, or vehicle assembly experience preferred.Experience using hand, pneumatic, and power tools.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to read and follow assembly instructions and work procedures.Manufacturing or automotive production experience preferred.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier components with assistance.Ability to stand, bend, twist, kneel, squat, reach, and perform repetitive work throughout the workday.Must possess a valid driver's license.Ideal CandidateSuccessful candidates typically have experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, collision repair technician, RV or trailer technician, vehicle assembler, or other hands-on mechanical trades.
