Job summary

Camaco in Columbus, Nebraska, seeks an experienced Controls Engineer for automotive manufacturing. You will troubleshoot, program, and improve automated equipment, focusing on PLCs, robotics, motion control, sensors, and safety systems.

The candidate must relocate to Columbus and possess advanced English. The role requires hands-on PLC programming across Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Mitsubishi, and Siemens, plus FANUC and Yaskawa welding robots, servo motors, VFDs, machine vision, and safety systems

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
3+ years of controls/automation experience in automotive manufacturing.
Hands-on PLC troubleshooting and programming experience.

Responsibilities

Program and troubleshoot PLC systems (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Siemens).
Troubleshoot FANUC and Yaskawa welding robots.
Troubleshoot servo motors, servo drives, VFDs, and motor control systems.
Support machine vision systems and PLC/vision communication.
Read/modify electrical schematics, PLC programs, and control systems.
Support automated welding, assembly, conveyors, and other equipment.
Perform root-cause analysis and implement improvements to uptime, quality, and OEE.
