PrideStaff is seeking a CNC Programmer with a background in automotive manufacturing to join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs to produce high-precision components for the automotive industry, ensuring parts meet strict quality, safety, and production standards.
Location: Charlotte, NC 28273
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Pay Rate: $25+/hr. *based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Program CNC machines (mills, lathes, multi-axis equipment) to manufacture automotive parts to exact specifications.
Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D models specific to automotive components.
Select tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters appropriate for high-strength alloys, aluminum, and other materials common in the automotive sector.
Collaborate closely with design, production, and quality teams to improve part manufacturability, reduce cycle time, and increase process reliability.
Conduct test runs and first-article inspections to validate new programs and ensure compliance with automotive industry tolerances and standards.
Troubleshoot machining processes and recommend solutions to prevent defects, rework, and downtime.
Maintain detailed documentation for programs, setup instructions, and process improvements for IATF 16949 compliance.
Ensure adherence to safety standards, ISO/IATF quality certifications, and lean manufacturing principles.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in CNC Programming or Manufacturing Technology preferred.
3+ years of CNC programming experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Proficient with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks).
Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and 5-axis machining.
Knowledge of automotive-grade materials and production standards (e.g., tolerance stacking, PPAP requirements).
Experience working in IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 certified environments strongly preferred.
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Manual dexterity to handle tooling, components, and measuring equipment.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $25.00 - $30.00
