Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Automotive B Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks on cars and light trucks, ensuring that all work meets the company’s high standards for quality and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Diagnostic and Repair Work: Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and computer system issues. Complete repairs on engines, brake systems, suspension, exhaust systems, air conditioning, and other components.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform regular vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, fluid services, and other scheduled services.
- Ensure Quality and Accuracy: Follow all manufacturer guidelines and repair procedures. Ensure repairs are completed correctly, efficiently, and safely.
- Assist Senior Technicians: Work under the supervision of senior technicians, learning and assisting with more complex repairs and diagnostics as needed.
- Maintain Clean Work Area: Keep the work area organized, clean, and safe. Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to explain vehicle issues and recommend services. Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional attitude.
- Complete Repair Orders: Accurately complete repair orders and document all work performed in the shop’s computer system.
- Stay Current with Industry Trends: Continuously improve knowledge of automotive technologies, repair methods, and diagnostic tools through training and on-the-job experience.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience as an automotive technician, with a strong understanding of vehicle systems and diagnostics.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and the latest repair technologies. Experience with various car makes and models is a plus.
- Education/Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent. ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification preferred but not required. Additional certifications in automotive repair or manufacturer-specific certifications a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to identify and diagnose problems accurately and efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex vehicle issues to customers in clear, understandable terms. Good communication skills with both customers and coworkers.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy parts, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience with electric or hybrid vehicle maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Experience using dealership-specific diagnostic systems or software.
Work Environment:
- This position requires working in a service shop environment, which includes exposure to noise, heat, and potentially hazardous materials.
- Work may involve standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy parts.
